His use of SOF kinda ebbs and flows. In Debit of Honor and Executive Orders (chronologically later in the series) conventional forces weigh in heavily. Although Rainbow Six is exclusively CT operations.

I was once critical of his later books which I thought were dry until recently when I'm listening to (almost) his whole collected works on audio book and find that he can really craft a story well (except for the Mountain Men in Executive Orders, I still can't figure out what their exact plan was).

Could, perhaps due to his earlier depictions of this "type of field operations" are very close to the truth, and that it may be caused a controversial situation that he writes about the pure facts of the principle ....

I didn't read any of them yet, but I always thought the premise of some of Clancy's post-Cold War books seemed quite ridiculous. I read a few of his earlier books and they were all quite good, though.

Yes the books are good, and a consistently good story,

HFRO and RSR were his best, Cardinal was good too...I haven't read Debt of Honour or Executive Decisions though, those are on my 'To do' list.

Will you have enough time to read them before you marry, or become, after ... the countdown has begun of course, for your part

Debt of Honor, Executive orders and The Bear and the Dragon make a nice Trilogy.

That's pretty much what I thought. Red Storm Rising is my favourite, of course, followed by The Cardinal of the Kremlin and Red October.
