If you can't get in front, this at least gives you a chance. If you're in position enough you can get in front without being seen,...that's better.

Every time I reload the game, I get the "WARSHIP SPOTTED" so the destroyers are already in firing range.

I can get to a launch position at the VERY END of my Mk.14's range, but after I launched a 6 fish spread I had no hits. One looked like it was going to hit a cruiser, but it ran out of range and died.
