Do you realize that helo launched torpedo will run circles while trying to detect submerged target if any?

If you drop it too close it will miss the target and instead circle around it.

Maybe that was it?

What settings do you use when launching said torpedo? Remember, the torpedo is set to a certain direction (if I remember corectly 000T). If it is set to Snake it will go off in that direction. If it is set to circle then it will always turn to the right and circle until it aquires a target. Now with that in mind, if you line up your helo on another direction than 000T and drop your torpedo it will turn and go off toward 000T. All this of course assuming that you dont use AC in the TACCO station.

If I might be so bold and recommend the manual I wrote to you ... just look for the Airborne Operations Manual over at the CADC.
