Default Restore Shiratsyu DD to RSRD..its missing

While building a historical convoy for RSRD which required a Shiratsuyu Class DD as an escort, I noticed RSRD no longer has the Shiratsuyu, for some reason it was not included in DD.Anyone have one laying around can put into RSRD? Thanks.

Lurker changed the name of the Shiratsuyu to the Hatsuharu-Shigure. What's the saying........."A rose, is a rose, by any other name".

If you really don't like the renaming just go into the RSRDC "Roster" folder and find the "Names.cfg" file. Open it with "Notepad" and drill down to the Sea heading and find the "DDShiratsuyu=Hatsuharu-Shigure Destroyer" entry. Change the name back to "DDShiratsuyu=Shiratsuyu Escort" and "Save" the file before exiting.

Or, change it to the "DDShiratsuyu=BubbleHead Bouncer" for a personal touch!

It would seem that the Hatsuharu-Shigure was meant to encompass two classes of DD that were virtually the same boat (Hatsuharu class/Shiratsuyu Class), apart from some design modifications. Externally, for all intents and purposes, they appear *almost identical. The Hatsuharu Class were found to be too topheavy and after design modifications, it was given a new class designation.
Shigure was the name of a Shiratsuyu Class DD.
Hence the name, Hatsuharu-Shigure.

*E.G., Hatsuharu had triple tube torpedo mounts, Shiratsuyu had quadruple tube mounts.

Bubble, have you loaded max's large DD pack. You don't have to add traffic for the new platforms if you don't won't, mostly reworks existing platforms and he has renamed a few. The skins are great, plus he reworked loadouts, many of the DD's now are stronger sub hunters, most get some Y and K guns. He also reworks the US side and just updated the Fletcher, looks much better. I don't know if he updated the DL on the first post, seems the new mod pack link was listed under the fletcher. You can set some escorts to generic and let the game pick and get the new classes in existing layers. If you adjusted and loaded shippack, make sure you run maxs after that.

Think he has others included and these are the other updated, he broke out the two classes, hat and Shir.
- Yugumo Class
- Hatsuharu Class
- Shimakaze Class
- Shiratsuyu Class <------ replaces the origin SH4 Shiratsuyu
- Kamikaze Class
- Momi Class
- Wakatake Class
- Otori Class
- Chidori Class
- Matsu/Tachibana Class
- Shimushu Class <------ replaces the origin SH4 NMS_No13
- Mikura Class <------ replaces the Kaibokan from TMO
- Old Patrol Boat

Hatsuharu-Shigure

Hara, nothing to do with Hatsuharu, There was a ship of the Shiratsuyu class named Shigure. Hara was famous in the Solomons I know, but don't know about not ever losing any men, never heard that, thought he lost several.
Don't know if he was Cap of the Shigure late war, but it was sunk near wars end.

Yes, Capt. Tameichi Hara was commander of the Shigure. He also commaded a light cruiser (name escapes me at the moment) accompanying the Yamato during operation Ten-Go. Up until that time, he had never been sunk and was afforded the title "The Unsinkable Captain" by the Japanese public. He was somewhat of a legend in Japan during WWII. He also (literally) wrote the book on torpedo attack tactics that was officially adopted by the IJN during WWII. This book was used in training new officers at the Eta Jima Naval Academy.

I know it's Wikipedia but, a fast glance seems to prove it accurate.
