I'm getting the ubiquitous freezing

You should update your UI. The version you are using was around about the time that torp impact time was added and that cause some freezing when locking on a target. It was fixed in later versions.

Also if you goto C:\Users\Owner\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\main.cfg

and change to this:-

[DEVELOPING]
Modding=Yes
;MenuEditor=Yes
DebugScripts=Yes

When the game freezes - you can alt-tab out and check for the error message.

You could also run from C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Applications
the "Dbgview" before starting your game and when an issue happens - it will be recorded.
