I was playing this game called "Sub command 688 seawolf Akula" or something like that a few years ago (5 perhaps?), and I enjoyed that IMMENSELY! The sonar station was so fun to play with the "high tech" sonar waterfall. And you had the option to launch tomahawks and SSM missiled to strike at surface ships and whatnot, and if I dont remember wrong, you could launch nukes aswell.

You also had a radar and radar detection antenna that made it very interesting.

And it had this awesome sonar array that you reeled out after the boat to minimize disturbing sounds from your own submarine. You also had to take into concideration to reduce your propspeed to reduce cavitation so your sonar array worked better (less noise from your sub meant you could "hear" better with your passive sonar array. And I think there were thermal layers in the waters that you could use to your advantage. Some missions involved stalking russian typhoon class boomers under the polar caps or deploy seal-teams at Murmansk. So freaking awesome

Hmmm, I might have to dig that one out some time. I really really hope we will see another modern sub-simulator soon.
