Black Betty is one of my favourite most covered songs:

Tom Jones

And this is supposed to be the original first recording recorded in a Texas prison in 1933:

Oh, that's a thread for me:

let's start with a classic:

a very powerful version, very good fitting

instrumental cover, very beautiful, the different pace gives it a whole new direction

------

One of the most beautiful pop songs from the 80s

Psychobilly version, they made the song danceable

------

from one of Bruce's best albums, a single man and a 4-track recorder

country cover, nice tempo, the slow pace at the end fits the song perfectly

------

American Punk classic

Acoustic cover, very intense

------

And finally one of the strangest covers I know of:

And I really like what REM did with First We Take Manhattan -

I love this cover. Good guitars, fast drums, beautiful keys - what more do you need?

Ok, lets begin with

Patty Smith - Because the night

It is not really a cover, because he wrote the song for her, but I like his version:

Bruce Springsteen - Because the night
