Well, as I said I was actually hunting my way up the English coast hoping to find something to spend my last 3 torps on before heading back to port. No way I really wanted to head back with 3 torps and an undamaged boat, especially with only 2 ships sunk to that point in the patrol.

I was not really near any particular port, but was hanging around fairly close to the mouth of the bay/inlet or whatever that opens up on the SE England coast between Margate and Harwich, coming up through the eastern approaches to the Channel from Dunkirk. I can see why either side might have dropped a few mines in there - I knew there might be mines in/near some of the harbors, I just didn't realize the game (or mods) had modeled any such "outlying" minefields - sure made for a more interesting journey than I expected

Oh, and I think I figured out a way to make my log files recognize the loss of the 4 crewmen - it took changing a couple of files in a few places, but when I regenerated my Kaleun's personnel file in SH3 Commander it said I had lost 4 crewman this time, so I'm thinking it must have worked.

Good luck and good hunting!
