Default Black smoke

Is it possible to change the color of the smoke from the guns from white to brown/black?

I have never tried it, but if you check the gun it has a "fire/Effect" which links to the "Particles.dat". In Particles.dat there is a "ParticleGenerator" with "materials" that link to the "Materials.dat" and in there are images that link to textures.
So to make a long story short, I have no idea.....

Vickers made a neat mod that has darker, longer lasting smoke for merchants and faint smoke for warships. Maybe this is what you were looking for?

Well not to butt in or anything but, isn't the smokes color more like a texture than anything else. So why not try manipulating the color via gimp or what ever software you use?
