They do make some of the best spring rolls.

My neighbour is a young bachelor who goes camping a lot.

I look after his property when he's away and he looks after the maintenance of the extremeties of our properties (fencing etc) in return.

On the other hand, I must be the greatest neighbour.

When I was living in Omaha, my apartment complex consisted of six unit sections each section with its separate entrance. The layout was three floors of two apartments. Mine was number 5 on the top floor.

My neighbours in unit 6 asked the landlady if there were any vacancies (some friends were moving in the area. My land lady said no.

"But the apartment next to us is empty (number 5)."

"No it isn't, [platapus] has been living there for over five years"

"Really, we never see or hear him!"

It helped that most of the time I was working shift work, but mostly it was because I am a considerate neighbour. If I ever had to move back to apartments again, I want me as a neighbour.

The only time I had really bad neighbors was several years ago.
It wasn't really the neighbor but his two dogs. Beautiful Dobermans like the ones on Magnum PI TV series.

On the weekends or in the evenings the dogs were as good as gold.
But as soon as the owner went to work they would start barking and they would not stop until he returned, absolutely non stop. I have never encountered such dogs. They would be horse by evening.

I worked mostly nights and my other neighbor had to move as she was a night nurse at the local hospital. Neither of could sleep.
Every neighbor including myself complained to Animal Control. I spoke to the guy a couple of times.

The dogs were well cared for and not mistreated at all, big yard so plenty of room for exercise. They had fresh water and food. He did everything he could to keep them quite but to no avail.

I was on the verge of doing something drastic when he told me that he was moving to an outlaying area to get the dogs away from people.
He wanted to keep his dogs and I can't say I blame him for they were beautiful dogs. I suppose that a good trainer could have fixed the problem but he didn't have the money.
