They are very friendly on the "other" side and you will get nice catches

thinking of going to new york if I get the chance
just wondering if I can go into the harbour a day or two before Germany declares war on US and wait for all the green ships to turn red

Not impossible at all but I want to remind that the inlet is very shallow and that there is a DD and mtb before you reach the inner part, I suggest you wait at the border at night when they are your real enemy

The Statue Of Liberty is in the stock game. GWX adds a huge amount of ships. SH3C adds nothing to the campaign files.

There are some nice targets docked in the various harbors behind the Statue. You should see what happens when you torpedo some of them, all heck breaks loose.
