Is there any difference to see since the series went to TNT, especially considering budget cuts?
You can watch the third season that just ended tuesday at TNT.com

I have not noticed any differences I would attribute to budget cuts other than a smaller cast and less air time for some others. The show as it is now seems to mostly be about Sherman/Cooper and the Detective Lydia.Don't want to spoil too much but third season ends with one detective going back to patrol after his partner is killed, the boot(Sherman) finished his field training and is in new division, partnered with the former detective.I believe this move was done so in the 4th season they follow sherman and his new partner, cooper and whatever he is doing and Lydia(black female detective, who is great on this show) sort of a consolidation.Noticed the Captain "Sal" , his storylines are not really there anymore, he's more of a supporting role.Still a great show that NBC was stupid to dump, esp since the ratings were good.

I too enjoy the gritty, real feel.I've been on several police ride alongs and although not in Los Angeles, saw some crazy stuff. They capture the feel and the manner or most cops very well. Many of the cases and calls they have in the show are based on actual cases. The way an officer was killed in the 3rd season is the same way an officer was actually killed. There is a shootout in 3rd season also involving the detective(lydia) that really happened years ago.

Good show, only cop show I've really ever enjoyed minus NYPD Blue and Third Watch(at times) Nice to see something besides NYPD though and something that portrays LAPD in a fair manner, not for or against, just fair. For many years LAPD was not portrayed in a great light by hollywood.
