The contact bearing is true bearing, meaning its bearing from you as measured on a compass. The SH games use relative bearing which is based on its bearing as measured from your bow.

well to me thats stupid... I thought thats the whole purpose of relative bearing so any joe schmo on the boat could quickly understand the position of something no matter what heading or direction the ship is pointed...
is there a mod to convert that to relative bearing for the waterfall? |

Perhaps this is not a true bearing vs relative issue at all. The Crsr Brg readout on the right panel displays the true bearing of where the cursor is currently located. It appears your cursor is sitting around 090 on the broadband display on the left. If you were to left click, on the broadband display on the left, on the contact it should show the correct true bearing. As far as I know all bearings in Broadband and Narrow band are true bearings.
