Now go to the same folder inside my interior mod in the MODS folder. You will find two files with a name very similar to the one you just copied(one will actually match it). Delete both of those files, and then paste the copied file into the folder. Last step, change the name of the pasted file to various_books_postera_maps.dds, all that needs changed is posters to postera.

Then re-enable the mod. Hopefully that will solve your problem as those files account for the biggest boost in resolution in the whole mod. Keep in mind, that you will be losing some content from the mod by doing this(only graphical stuff, you will not lose any functionality). If this does not work, I have some other ideas that could help, but they will also cause content to be lost from the mod.

Hi steelviking, thanks heaps for the help. Gave it a try and did exactly what you said, uninstalled any other interior mods i was using, copied the .dds file and deleted the 2 ones in your mod and replaced it with the copied one and renamed it. Gave it a go in game, put it this way when I tried a quick mission with about 6 destroyers around me before it would lag so much it was useless and frustrating to use, but now its a fair bit smoother, playable but still could be better. Any other files i can delete?

Cheers, Ren

Steelviking. This update of your mod looks great. but can you put it up somewhere else to download. Mediafire is a pain and lets me downlod to 45 % and then the download just sticks at that point.

Really!? That is odd

I will upload it to FileFront tomorrow(my home internet takes all night to upload it). Hopefully that will work.

@renthewog,

Do you get that much lag when you are only running my interior mod? Are you using Conus00's Graphics Mod(with or without my touchups)? And, are you using my shadow mod? Both of those are big drains on your graphics card, and it might just be my interior mod on top that is tipping the scales(maxing out your card's memory).

@ Everyone,

By the way, I have been able to get the gun crew personnel to put helmets on when manning the anti-aircraft guns. I have not tried it on the deck gun crew yet, but I think it should work there also. The only problem is, that the script files that are involved are already altered by Heretics Mighty Fine Crew mod, so they will be incompatible.

I see this will be a challenge for SteelViking ...

Complete other gauge, which is an ammeter, this is another gauge of the set that used the submarine, the simulator puts unfortunately only two of these current meters, but we can choose who we see fit.

This one is labelled as a "Field Ammeter," presumably that's the current on the motors, both input and output, or perhaps it's forward and reverse. The interesting thing is that the battery ammeter has two scales, one in the hundreds of amps, one in the thousands, this one only does hundreds... Also, the other "Field Ammeters" next to it only go up to 60 amps each...

V1.2 of the interior mod is still fully compatible with Env 3.8. W_clear did not make any changes to the files 3.8 that our mods share. You should of course still install my mod after his in JSGME.

SteelViking's Interior Mod V1.2.rar

Upload took 45 minutes, to download will depend on what speed.

This looks about right. Can we see this in the next update?

Ha, I think I've found what the deal is here: http://www.uboatarchive.net/U-570BritishReport.htm

By "field" they mean the current necessary to generate the magnetic field for the motor to work, kinda like the ignition on your car. So it only takes a few tens of amps to energize each armature, of which there are two per motor, whereas the total current draw per motor can be in the thousands of amps. So long story short, those two 0-60 Amp meters on either side show the status of the magnetic field current per armature. Still not sure what the 800-0-800 Amp gauge is for, though, I know it's related to the fields but specifically I dunno...

charge/discharge? 800 (charge) - 0 - 800 (discharge) or it's showing the current direction (DC) for forward/reverse

That obs scope looks great! I don't care for that white one.

Sorry folks, but I have researched it, and all I have turned up are periscope shafts that are silver/chrome finished. That is how I made it look in V1.2, it is NOT WHITE.

However, I would be perfectly willing to change the obs periscope shaft to that color if someone can provide adequate evidence that any U-boat periscope shaft actually looked like that. And, no, screen shots from past SH games do not count, nor do pics from movies.

Hi again, No im not using your shadows mod, would like to but am afraid will only slow down the framerate more..I am using the "Compatible Conus00's Graphic Mod+SV's work" mod and your interior mod is installed on top of that.

By the way my graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT

Cheers,

Ren

I agree that in most of the pictures we see a white or silver scope tube. These pictures are taken from museum, new ships and propaganda movies where all had to be clean and nice, with all parts of the sub painted... like is in SH. I have my doubts that in the real life things were the same and the scope tube it looks the same after months of use. It rather will look like this one from U-2540:

Actually this is what I would expect from an interior mod. Make the sub to finally look like a warship, not like a museum piece as it is in the stock.

Ok, this is a good topic of discussion, we know that these tubes were made of steel, stainless maybe, we know that these devices constantly toward keeping them, because they slipped inside another cylinder. This support consisted of oil or grease for better glide. However, the steel over time and with the constant humidity, usually change their tone, but as these tubes were constantly greased metal did not suffer so much aging.
Everything I say this because I think one of the most important parts, if not the most inportante was the periscope, this appliance could never fail and that is why they were doing constant maintenance.
As for color, unfortunately we do not have a color photo of the time, which tells us they were white, gold or silver.
We rely on photos of museums, where these pieces have been recovered somewhat in good condition and of course they clean all the waste and fat since they are exposed to the public.
These photos show two tubes of periscopes, in it we see a steel gold color and the other with a white color, the latter according to the photographer belongs to U_505 and what I can see, is the attack periscope ...

Again I apologize for my poor English, I hope I explained well
