I have a Dell XPS M1710. They're notorious for overheating and especially for frying video cards.
I found the answer was an Akasa "fan tray". It's USB powered and very lightweight. It has the added benefit that it sets your laptop PC's keyboard at a great angle for use. Plus a freeware program like Speedfan is a must. it's also useful to invest in an aerosol can of compressed air. You don't have to take your computer apart, but a few blasts through the fan-vents can work wonders. Result - No more sizzling! |
