Did you buy win7 or pick it up off an install disc for another machine?

Default Running SH 3, 4 & 5 on a Mac

Hi. I run SH3, 4 & 5 successfully on a Mac. SH3 and 5 won't work on my machine using VMware Fusion. SH4 does at the lowest graphics setting. When using Boot Camp, it's a different ballgame. I use Windows XP on a 2008 Mac Pro. Windows XP only detects 2 Gb of RAM out of 8 Gb and all SH games use I think no more than 2 of the 8 cores of the processor. That means that all SH games should run fine on iMacs from mid 2008 onwards.

SH5 runs well in wine, it's how I run it. You just need to run this command first:

winetricks vcrun2008 vcrun2005 d3dx9 dotnet20

It says that in the wine app db page for SH5 :-P

Happy hunting!

Default SH5 on Mac with Wine - Mods?

Hi all

Old thread I know but I'm interested to know which mods (if any) people are running with SH5 on Mac with Wine? I'd got a MacBook Pro 2008 with 8Gb Ram and it runs 'ok' with most graphics options scaled down.

I've tried the Wolves of Steel mega mod and followed the instructions carefully (including patching) but it would crash before the menu appeared. I've also tried several other combinations but had to strip things back to get some game time.

Currently I've found this works:

Dynamic Environment 2.9
Mighty fine crew
OH II (with grid square patch)

I would like to add the TDW multi UIs (or other UI mods) and also the FX mods and IRAI mods from the same author.

It's just such a long hard road and I seem to spend more time fiddling with JGSME and restarting than actually playing! If anyone has an ordered list of known good mods it would help me alot.

Cheers
Iain

I am using 27 inch late 2012 iMac. I have 2GB of video and that helps a lot.

I am running on Windows 10 on my iMac through bootcamp. I am using highest setting and I enjoy playing on it and very playable.

Happy hunting bro
