Ignore this news, it just disturbs the wanted overall picture. Spreading such hatefull information can be inflamatory and offending. Let's be reasonable, let's be sensible everybody. It's just a crime happening like any other, the officials are aware of it, and the girl is in good hands. Everything is well. If they would have used such long nails that they couldn't lift her from the ground anymore and if no doctor were available - that would have been bad. It is not the first such case becoming known this year, and even behind those reported there are many hundreds and thousands of others remaining unknown, but that still does not chnage the fact that I know that sensible guy living at the end of my floor who is muslim, and I know some Muslim coll.eagues who make great feriends, too, and when they say against all books that this is nothing that has to do with Islam, then I simply believe them, because longheld scripture and ideology, tradition and education, cultural climate and a millenia of slavery in the end mean nothing.

If anything than it only shows, with regard to the wife assisting in the torture, that a state of victimhood and slavery loves company. I know why I do not accept women defending Islam's demand on women as a voice I would listen to. Like I do not easily believe a hostage telling me that her kidnapper is a very good, friendly, reasonable guy.

Some archaic feelings from deep inside are coming up when reading such news. I never considered myself to be extremely civilised, and never claimed I were, but I am wondering whether I am really the only one who has made the experience that sometimes giving in to letting such archaic energy out can be extremely satisfying. And if it is politically uncorrect to allow that, doing so feels all the better!

IMO it's better to acknowledge such feelings than to pretend they don't exist. There are days when I think the only thing that's appropriate for some people is a trip out back behind the woodshed and a good beating at the hands of someone who really knows how to administer it.

That sentence took a turn for the worse after the word "woodshed". Was enjoying it up until then.

So it goes

Regarding the news articale, I felt sick reading that story. Where do you start to think about that :/

Well, there's a difference between thinking it and advocating it, lol.

And a difference IMO between responding in the moment to a situation where violence against one's self or another is clearly imminent or already in process, and responding after the fact. The former is an act of prevention; the other, one of punishment or even revenge.

The morality as well as the practical value of a physically violent response in either case is, of course, debatable.
