I thought Germany was announcing that they were going to make 10Mbps internet speed standard.

btw I win because I live in a third world LOL well officially it's developing country but our govt has been at work hard real hard to deindustrialize the whole country even faster. It's very difficult to fail here considering all the natural resources and the oceanic wealth so I must assume with all logic that it's the government doing to go there even faster. But I must trust my govt that they see the bigger picture in all this. Must be some tricky strategic planning.

I did this one a few months ago, shortly after I upgraded the connection with my ISP.I'm getting exactly what I'm paying them for... imagine that?

I might have used an "internet speed optimization tool" a few years ago with my Win Xp. Since it was already a couple of years old it might have not been compatible with high speed DSL. But since that is more than three years ago I don't know for sure anymore.
I just wanted to say that I don't think it is a native Win XP problem.
