No flames here. What you say is true, at least for the game. In real life it takes more energy to recharge the batteries than it does to travel the same distance surfaced. The game has it wrong. Fixed in SH4.
Yeah, but all that Pacific... not my thing, prefer the harsh atlantic and a uboat!








(How to wind Steve up in one easy go - yes, we know about the uboat/atlantic mod for 4)

On the other hand SH4 doesn't have the teleport function, so if your rudders are destroyed so is your career.
