Default you gotta love TMO2.0/RSRDC

March, 42 at the southern mouth of Makassar Straights in a trusty Salmon. At approximately 0130 hours we sunk a Kuma light cruiser in the midst of a convoy of 4 destroyers. No. Make that 7 destroyers. Conditions: calm seas, fair weather, but dark as hell. Two hits at approx. 1,500 yds using gutted's Solution Solver, with contact at 90 Aob. I am being pinged and depth charged as I write this. Six destroyers are hunting us within a range of 1,000 yds. Our boat is underwater at 94 feet, with 14 feet of the sea floor under the keel. As the depth charges go off around the boat, the event cam flashes a brief pic of the underwater fireworks. As we creep along at 2 kts. in silent running mode, the ocean floor lights up for a second or two. We are treated to a delightful glimpse of all of the colorful undersea plants adjacent to the boat. You got to love it.

Supplemental Report
It is now 0507 hours. (I took a nap and let the game run.) About 30 minutes ago, I shut down the engines. Three destroyers were still looking for us. They finally departed. My crew wants to return to Pearl. They miss the Nimitz sisters.

Docked at Brisbane and decided to keep the USS Nautilus for our next patrol, even after being offered a new fleet boat. While waiting for the Aussies to refit the boat, the crew got some well needed R&R in the beautiful Australian port town. Visited Camp Ascot and gave a report on the state of the war at sea.

With the Japs closing on Australia's doorstep, I assured the soldiers that the submarine force, and the rest of the pacific fleet would do our best to stop the IJN from making landfall in their homeland.

Afterward had a briefing with Admiralty on the areas that our submarine should patrol next. We have several possibilities. We could patrol the Timor and Arafura sea off Darwin. The Coral sea also needs to be defended to prevent an invasion of Port Moresby. However, the Solomon Sea and islands seems to be the most likely invasion point.

While awaiting our new patrol orders, our men had a little fun with the locals.
