I'd love to play Airsoft but it's banned out here in Australia. Apparently there was meant to be some hearing to discuss the revision of the ban at the beginning of this year... Will have to check up on the Airsoft sites again, but I'm willing to bet the Australia one remains unchanged.
Otherwise I would've got a few arsenals of Sniper Rifles (I'm more like a sniper in some ways), not to mention SVD's (However that may change soon if our good Laser Tag sites gets Frag Tag aka military/survival laser tag with real gun sounds and realistic guns, hope they'd make a SVD... here's a site link if anyone's curious http://www.fragtag.com.au/ )

Anyway, I talk too much. It's been a while since I talked of Airsofts

damn, you aussies have no fun. but I'm sure there are no inspectors out in the outback, you could play with homemade airsoft tanks down there with 3000 vs 3000 players and noone would notice

Some peeps reckons because we have a new PM (Gillard) we might have a chance. But who knows. Just a matter of convincing the govt to revise the ban. I'm just annoyed that NZ got it legal and UK got it legal, but not us Aussies Maybe I'll move to NZ, it's a few hours flight away Never flown there but airfares aren't pricy, haha. (And yep... the Aussie Airsoft sites remains unchanged, except for a few new ones popping up, here's hoping someone will notice)

@Schroeder: lol I get some people who says I talk a little too much, I'm usually a bit of a chatty person when on a topic I like...

Umm as far as I know it's not banned but you are required to get a real weapon license when you buy one .

Anyway the price tags for these airsoft guns here are ridiculous. For example

A real Sword SVD that would cost US$750.00 is sold at US$1300.00 and add another $400.00 for a real SVD scope and those prices are for second hand RS SVD!!!!

A JG SVD that would sell for only US$99-100 abroad is sold at $350.00!!!

. I'm not going to fork US$350.00 for stuff that's actually a hundred bucks in value. I mean I can understand that these people have to profit but selling at 300% than what the British or Americans are selling is not trading but stealing.

Well I wouldn't worry about being chatty there's nothing wrong with that in fact I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the link didn't know those stuffs already existed ;-)

Real weapon license huh? Airsoft sites for AU are still saying Airsoft is not legal here I've been planning to get one (license) for some time since I used to consider trying out Clay Pigeon Shooting (or target shooting).
But as far as I know, there isn't any Airsoft meeting grounds but that probably means I need to dig deeper.

That much for the SVD's? Real wallet breaker for me But I don't know if I can even import from abroad either, customs'd be all over my Airsofts if I ever did. Don't know what should be done in that situation, the only things I've ever had from abroad are model kits and the few odds and ends.

@Castout: I've been told Mildura in Victoria will be getting Frag Tag, I'm just hoping Sydney (or surrounding suburb or elsewhere) will get it someday. It'll beat normal laser tags

Real Sword SVD and Classic Army SVD are the top two Airsoft SVD Dragunov. The RS could be bought at US$750 online and the CA at about US$420.00 online.

There's also the Chinese JG SVD sold at US100.00 online

But I think I may have found the one for me if the price is right

An A&K SVD Dragunov(spring not electric) which performance easily exceeds 400 feet per second. Online it's about US$150.00.

Now to look for this A&K here along with a scope rail and a scope at fair price is another matter altogether especially without a silly jacked up price tag.

Heck you can even buy a REAL illegal pistol for US$250.00 so I don't see why these airsofts should cost a lot more than a real gun.

A&K SVD teaser(warning music is AWFUL)

Serrously, the prices are nuts, I've seen a Mosin Nagat Sniper Rifle selling for about US$160 online. (A real one not an airsoft).

I've though about getting in to Airsoft (to have fun and get in shape) but since I plan on going to College next year I gave it up- any weapons are not allowed on campus- even airsoft.

Airsoft is illegal here unless you have a real gun permit

part of the reason they are so expensive and you can't buy them from abroad yourselves such from online. They'll confiscate it.

It has always been semi legal but the police chief made it clear recently that they would confiscate airsoft gun that came without real gun permit.

This happens because of some high profile robbery with REEL guns(including automatic assault rifle)

Just got myself a second AEG after finding out my L85 is shooting about 40fps too hot for my CQB site at 390 Had a thing for LR300's ever since first playing STALKER so I ended up getting one or a G&G GR300L to be exact.

Also finished my makeshift B&Q gun rack

Got a 9.6v pack in it and by god does it shoot! no idea what the rof is but on full auto you can't fire off one round at a time, it'll fire about 3 rounds just tweaking the trigger lol
