Naively I would suspect that adding the years to the campaign is the easy part - the harder question is does SH5 include the equipment, technologies and advancements made during those two years? Or would they have to be added? If the latter, then add in a liberal sprinkle of 3D modellers before anything is complete.

But for an extended campaign you would need new ships for all the main players and the new ordnance for them. How about radar, u-boat snorts? New playable boats would pretty much be essential. Later marks of the VII are probably not impossible to get in there but would people settle for a Type IX with a Type VII interior? I think a basic, modded campaign is probably doable right now but a full user revamp will be some time away. I would say at least 2 years from now. With SH3 we already had - in the base game - virtually everything we needed. With SH5 a lot of it will have to be created from scratch. |
