I don't know if traditions have changed since 1990 in Holland but on Rememberance Day each war grave was tended by a schoolchild for the day

Now that is an interesting fact Jim. For the most part on the days of rememberence here in the states an American flag is placed at each grave.

Hmm, wouldn't really know about that...
There are memorial services at the war cemeteries, but I don't know if the graves are tended by schoolchildren. It could be, but I've never heard of it.
I do know that traditionally each year at "Dodenherdenking" schoolchildren do put up wreaths at the National Monument in Amsterdam.
