Trolling is a form of fishing. An internet troll is someone who posts for no other reason than to get a rise out of someone, or in this case everyone. They are the people who don't want to contribute, they just want attention.

This guy likes to insult anyone who disagrees with him, get rude and hostile and then claim that he was punished for nothing more than stating an opinion. They usually have in common that they can't figure out that it's not what you say, it's how you say it.

I once knew a guy in real life who was part of a church group, and couldn't stop arguing with people. When he got totally out of hand he was banned. Then he started following the minister around and causing trouble. When the minister was called somewhere else the guy packed his bags and followed him there. The minister died some years ago (nothing to do with this guy) and the guy came back to Salt Lake. Just a couple of years ago he turned up in the newspaper. Seems somebody filed a harassment suit against him. He lost the case. So what does he do? He starts following the judge around. Landed himself in jail bigtime.

Internet trolls don't have anything else to make their lives worthwhile, so they spend their time blaming others for their problems and doing everything they can to make others' lives miserable.

And that's the rest of the story.

Mischievous? Annoying? Wrong? Evil? We're on the internet - physical characteristics are invisible. What kind of behaviour can a troll be expected to have - apart from living under a bridge, and apart from being 'bad'?
