Frankly, the same could be said of the previous SH releases, yet many of the members on here rave about how perfect they were, when in fact the opposite was the case.

Yes, they were great eventually, but after how many patches and mods? Selective memory wins again!

From what I'm reading, no previous SH was as bad upon release as SH5 currently is, even SH4. Selective memory indeed.

I'm so glad I still have SHCE!. I saw online that it costs about the same as the later versions. But I wouldn't sell it for $500, (yes that's 5 hundred dollars).

Maybe I'll buy SH5 in 2011

Yesterday I was pretty excited after I played 1 hour right after patch was released. I'm not so enthusiast today when I played more.

First of all.. my biggest wish in SH5 is to have a BFGun, a really BF shotgun. I play as a nazi captain, so I can be and I have the right to be really cruel. So first thing after getting my shotgun is to point it in the sonar guy face and shot. Reload and "clear" the officer deck. Then put their bodies in the torpedo tubes together with all the trash and waste I got in the sub and fire. Then light up a cigar and start thinkin why the heck I still play this sim.

I was really hoping in a crew improvement, but there is none. I still have all those useless retards aboard, the sonarman is still screaming every 20 second that he see smoke on the horizon when we are sailing in silent mode under 150m under the sea, the whole bunch of idiot officers fail to track my target once I aquired the speed, range and all I need for a firing solution, in general my crew is still mourning Willi's family instead of being focused on their battle stations. Damn it, I love Sims3, but this supose to be a u-boat sim, not Sims where I need to babysit a whole family

Yesterday when I was about to engage a convoy I did a save &reload and the weather was the same. Not today. After loading the yesterday save, I was in the middle of a storm. And yes, I disabled the save online feature. Also, the tanker that I left burning yesterday, today was sailing without any trace of damage on it. Anyway, I continued the attack, but this time no escort was interested in me. I still need to target the stern of the ship to hit the bow. Stadimeter seems to work, but to get the real distance I need to point a bit lower of the top of the funel. Anyway, it's useless as there is none aboard who can trace the distance, so every time I'm about to fire the tubes, I need to do a last distance checkup.

I see shadows when the sun is partially covered by clouds. The crew wear the same cloth no matter if is a storm or sunny day outside. They still see and point at ghost ships all over, the idiot WO is still using the UZO and when I'm doing a crash dive I still can't run to the sonarman or the torpedoman to give them vital orders.

The only real improvement is the optimization for the single core cpu's and the sub interior where I have better fps now and all runs pretty smooth. And yeah.. somebody fixed the clocks around the sub.

I really have a hard time to believe that these "improvements" needed more than a month of work including a 2 week delay. If I would do such a fail job, I would be fired the very next day. God, I would love to be employed at Ubi. No quality check, no tight schedules, no care about the customers... it's a dream job. I really lost all my hope for this game.. please.. somebody else take over SH development and fixing, Ubi is such a fail company.. bigest loosers evah!!

Default couldn't patch

Don't use the game updater that you find in the support folder of the game.
It appears to work, but doesn't. I ran it twice and each time a file was apparently downloading. It then said a patch was found and asked me to load the game.

In game the version had not changed. I also could find no evidence of a new patch file being saved on my machine.

I went to UBI website and found zero about a patch in their support area. In fact, the game dedicated web page would not load.

Looks like our sub game is submerging, er sinking.

Magnum,

Tight schedules only apply to release day, after that Ubi could care less.

I tried the patch and this game is still laggy and buggy. Apart the rudder the game is the same boring no sim they produced. I mean why create different rooms just to look around without the chance to operate yourself lever and switches. Wheres the TDC?
Sometimes it feels like to play "the sims-uboat party" It needs only the option to send the sailors to the bathroom and it could be perfect!

Even with a great mod i think this game cant be changed that much. I unistall it. It dont deserve space on my HD.

Sh3 remains the best for years to come!!

Would be possible a class action against UBI ? Or maybe just a petition? They took our money and now we claim a good final product.
UBI feel free to suspend all the work on SH5 just because they sold only few copy of the game?...well i dont care,i still claim a working product!!

Maybe because this is not considered a real patch. And is not. In any other game when a patch is released is about real fixes and sometimes new content. Not here.

I can't explain what the heck these guys are doing in their offices. I have the feeling that nobody inside Ubi ever played SH5 after the release. They must be busy playin AC2, including the SH devs...

Jesus , what a bunch of moaning women, we now have a depth under keel button, a compass, single cores now work , morale works (as well as it can), graphics are faster (for me).
I dont know what you were expecting , the list was never going to turn this game into a gem, it has improved it though.
Make sure you start a new campaign if you havent already as saved games contain data that has been updated and make sure you remove all mods properly before updating.
I am only speaking for myself but i have now played 1.2 for 5 hours without issue.
Now they just need to address the AI.

You gave the money, and they took it of course.

I don't think they can be held liable unless you prove there was some harm done to you or your computer. In the best case you can get your money back from the shop, or get free credit for the online store.

There was a debate last year to make software developers liable for buggy code, at least in EU, but I don't know what went out of it.

The latest changes on the files were on April 21. and two days later April 23. SH5 has appeared as a localized version 1.2.0 on the Russian market. One can now be imagine how much QA was applied for this patch. Ubisoft and the developers then have waited three weeks to see how behave the Russian 1.2.0 customer-beta-testers and then released yesterday for the rest of the world this unfinished 1.2.0 patch.
