This SH5 debarcle that keeps going 'round;
As for any kind of protective comments towards SH5, don't waste you r time, breath or typing energy defending it. It is very weak to say that it will be up to third parties to make it what it's supposed to be... And yes indeed, it is an EPIC FAIL. These types of comments just offend my intelligence.

As a paying customer I have been treated appallingly by Ubishaft. I want to play this game by myself and NOT with a permanent internet connection for SINGLE PLAYER.... If so, only charge me 1/3 the price for something I do not actually own and cannot play at my leasure and don't penalise me.

Unfortunatelly I was one who LOVES and wants to support this franchise so I happilly stood up and put my hard earned where my heart is and I was and have been ass-reemed by this gam... thing. EVERYTHING about that "Collectors Edition" was CRAP. There is NOTHING Collectable about it apart from dust.

But lets not fall into the flaming and slanging off at each other, we are all on the same boot.

I am very upset by this disgraceful episode and I really hope this does not have the potential to destroy the wonderful name of Silent Hunter.

Now you may ask me to walk the gang-plank.
I will sum it up for you Sir. You purchased the game as is. Of course with PC gaming there has been and always will be patches. UbiSoft as well as other Gaming Companies try their best to beta and Alpha Test a Familiar and popular Game like SH5, the genre has been a mainstay to the submarine simulation community. Understand when you are a devout hardcore PC gamer, Patches are a way of life. I’m sure Ubisoft released, at the time, a stable version of SH5. Be cognizant of the fact PC Gaming companies will never have a game perfect at release. Unlike a cookie cutter console system i.e. Xbox 360, that every game you purchase works on every other Xbox 360 in the known world! Why, because every console is made same way. When you have an intricate PC game, especially a simulation of the magnitude of SH5, Anyone in their right mind realizes you can’t release the perfect PC game at release. PC Computers have thousands of different hardware configurations out there, People use SCSI, SATA, Nvidia, ATI, AMD, Intel, SoundBlaster, realtec, adlib, Windows Xp, Vista, Mac, Windows 7 and they’re various versions etc. There is no way in hell any PC Gaming developer can appease so many possible hardware configurations. Pc Gaming companies would have to employ 10.000 beta testers to get a lay of the land. In reality no companies are going to spend millions to make one game of many in development, perfect!

Here’s the sad thing about novice PC gamers. First off, a lot of people that buy an expensive PC gaming system our uneducated in the aspects gaming as it relates to the care and maintenance of the relation between software and hardware. I’d say half the people here complaining about the misfortunes of SH5 probably have no idea what a Patch or a driver is, or they have a weak understanding of them, or fail to apply them appropriately. Believe it or not, there are people right now scratching their heads, saying, what the hell are those. And by the way, why is my game not working properly? I'm not going to get into the technical aspects, but I believe I have made my point.

To conclude, People that demand a flawless PC game at release, because they are a paying consumer and demand a great product, well it is, and will be, you just have to be patient. A company like Ubisoft is reputable, and they have made many great titles, they just don’t have Millions lying around to make the perfect game at release. The best form of testing a game is when it's released to the public, the public that has thousands upon thousands of Computer Configurations that relay the problems they are experiencing in respect to they're personnel computer. Understand the magnitude of this undertaking will help appease you’re dissatisfaction.

P.S. Do I think Ubisoft could have done a better job with this specific title, Absolutely! But it is what it is, they will patch it, and it will be better!

Thanks Mulligan
