Silent Hunter 5 has the potential to be far better than both 3 & 4. I know it's not quite there yet, but after a few months there are gonna be some amazing Mods and I urge you to please give it another try.

I voted SH3.
SH4 is the better platform, has better graphics, lets you play both sides, has much better crew management, faster loading times, crews on the the target ships, better radio graphics (love that clipboard as opposed go being taken to a new screen) and a host of other things. But SH3 has the full harbor supermods, which no one has done for 4 yet, and it has SH3 Commander, which gives the huge variety of crew names and ship names (and we all now how I feel about that last one), and it has the Simfeeling 6-Dials mod, which is my favorite GUI. SH4 and 5 don't have those (yet). So I like SH4 and play it just as much as 3 (probably more once I reach 1942 in my campaigns). Quote:

I actually agree. SH5 could potentially blow away the previous engines.

I'll give SH5 a few years. It looks potentially good.

![]() Out of SH3 and 4 i like SH4 far better when it comes to the graphics but i tend to play SH3 more. Ive lost count on how many times ive said 'nah SH3 is dead time to put the game away for good' Then a month later I find myself playing it again. ![]() |

Had to vote SHIV. V looks like it could be phenomonal, yet its DRM scheme is an extreme turn off for me, and others it seems.
As such, I wonder how dedicated the amazing mod crew will be to a game so many people seem to oppose on principle. |
