Heh your lucky if it does actually drop to 8x like its supposed to.

Fairly often the TC drops suddenly with the announcement of "We have heavy flooding sir"

I've never run over 1024 and never had this happen. If you're running in 2048+ sure, because you're simply not leaving yourself enough reaction time.
