I bought ERT because I fancied the idea of being able to move from surface to submarine vessels. If its subs you're interested in then there are much better games around than ERT.

The AI is unreal. For example, you'll find that the gunnery of a sub's gun crew is deadly accurate but your gun crew are hopeless and can't hit the proverbial barn door. Given that the player can't be everywhere at once you need to rely on the AI for some things and in ERT you just can't.

Depth charging a submerged sub is pure chance—there doesn't seem to be any logic to it at all so there is no learning curve whatsoever, it's just like flipping a coin; it's a new deal every time.

Also you are trying to attack subs that can reload torpedo tubes in seconds, fire them (it would seem to me) sideways after you have just rammed the sub and can take several direct hits when on the surface and still submerge.

ERT should be good but it's not.
