This is just my opinion -
If I buy a game that can be played single player and all the game content needed to play single player is on my machine from the store bought dvd, there should be no reason at all to require a fixed internet connection. I am willing to accept a one time activation process that requires internet, and updates can be posted on the SH5's website. I don't need the program to do that for me. I'll be willing to bet there's more than a ping and pong going between your machine and ubisoft's servers when you're playing sh5.
