How to use OLC GUI

I installed OLC GUI and I havn't the slightest idea how to make solutions.
I use to be able to sink about 80-90% of what i'd come accross, now the closest i've come is about a meter. (which is just as bad as a mile in my opinion)

If Someone who swears by this mod can help me figure out range and speed I would be very gratefull. Thanks in advance cause I'm sure someone here can help me.

thanks ill watch it tonight i guess, I just hit 2 ships out of 6 so i'm getting there

K that video helped but heres the other problem, the zoom control for the periscope seems to have changed. It used to be the mouse scroll and tab, now neither zoom

Are you using any other mods? I have noticed that some times mods will change the control setup for some things and some combinations of mods will cause strange control changes that haven't been documented by the mod authers or just gone un-noticed all together. I think if you check the tips and tricks thread you can find the name of the file that holds all the controls for the game and in there you can find what the controls have been changed to and change them if you want.

His latest versions only have one zoom setting! Because he (OLC) didn't like the way it messed up how the waves look in the higher zoom levels in his environmental mod. Yes it is harder to measure range at longer distances accurately. But it was so aswel in reality. I'm not sure if there are derivative mods that have higher zoomlevels. I do know some have restored the dual zoom level. Macgui for instance.

If I recall correctly, OLC Gold has locked zoom levels for the periscopes. I think this had something to do with how the waves look like through the scope. Or perhaps the idea was to encourage the use of the observation scope for flag recognition, can't remember anymore.

This was the reason I never updated to OLC Gold from OLC 1.2.7. Not sure if the older version is available anymore though.

Edit: Looks like Pisces was faster than me. And yes, waves were the reason.

okay when I opened up JSGME just to check what version I had it turnes out this "OLC GUI 1.2.7 CORE FILES" is what I have.

Now someone said that ones fine, and someone else said OLC Gold has one view.
So i'm a bit confused but however it happened I only got one zoom, and a totorial for a dual zoom scope. In that totorial it said to use some scratch on the range wheel when using low power zoom, I don't see anything like that and the wheel looks alot smaller than that one in the video. So if someone has a video totorial for whatever OLC has only one zoom, please post a link, also

Ok It's becoming less of a problem, I just hit 3//4 of the ships I shot at. (fourth I just guessed the speed wrong, a destroyer ripping past me)

started playing with the OLC and for the first time getting a hang on manual targeting, but for some reason I can't put in my values manually from time to time!

The bearing keeps track with my peri/uzo movement although i clicked on manual input (as I understood from the video it should NOT while in manual mode). Has nothing to do with locking/ unlocking on taget too.

Only solution so far is to exit and reload the savegame.

Any ideas?

Same issue for me (once or twice). You've hit upon the best solution I think.

Click on the Auto/Manual button on the 3d-TDC station. That should fix it also.
