You are probably too late in May now, or maybe you interrupted the history by sinking the ship before it sailed?
Thatīs why I donīt like the current campaign
I hope the modders will change this "story line" thing and bring back the old style patrols (and add more and more things, imagine what they could do with the mod potential this game has)

I think the new campaign system has potential. It's nice having a goal that persists over a single patrol - makes it seem more like a proper campaign than a series of single patrols stuck together.

The thing that is odd is the 'You sank 20 million tons of shipping, but not where I told you to" part. I'm not really sure how 'failing' a campaign goal affects the subsequent campaign, but just because you didn't sink the right anmount of shipping in a certain area... hmmm...

Yes and I kinda dislike the way the campaign goes like "I have sunk milions and milions of tons, sunk air carriers, sunk Battle ships, destroyed key taskforces blokading the sea passes, reduced the RN to beyond itīs breaking point and Germany is still loosing the war and not invading/issuing peace with England???"

I guessed, after sinking some key Battle Ships/Carriers, the course of history should change, after all, some times a single man/ship can make all the difference. Guess I was wrong
I want my actions to have real impact on the entire war, not on my single patrol and earn just a medal.

Just immagine, what would have happened if by chance the ship/s that sunk Bismark where torpedoed by a U-Boat before that could happened?
Would that not probably changed everything?

In four years of playing SH3 I encountered one task force I had a prayer of intercepting. Although realistic, it made alot of modeling seem rather pointless.

I personally found the”go to X grid and patrol for a day" system of SH3 unfulfilling.

I found the "go take a picture of a carrier in Tokyo harbor" of SH4.....or heaven forbid the pilot in the sea rescue missions a bit ridiculous.
