And will it work then ?

I can't answer those questions, since I haven't bought the game.
I'm still playing SH3 and SH4.

I can honestly say that I have only been prevented from playing at Ubi's fault two or three times. Those times were brief.

I dont know about the saved games I go ahead and sync them but I would swear one time I got someone elses saved game

Well that tears it. I was logging into sh5 as I typed this games synched game started to load then I saw some message about internet connection either wait or quit.

Hrm.... again I couldent log in while Im connected to subsim what a coincidence as in thats at least three times that has happend.

Thank you for your answer but i think ,after reading a lot of post here and at subsim that you should try out this :

For those that hang at the menu during synchronization, turn of synchronization in the login screen first, then quit the launcher/game. Then goto
64-bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
32-bit:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher
and verify in settings.ini if this is set:
SaveOnline=false
Last, delete the storage folder (this is another cache folder). This folder apparently contains faulty data, causing the launcher to download . gg!
Note: even if you turned off the sync save game feature, the game apparently (and incorrectly) still tries to sync the games (although it does not upload any new ones anymore). If you do not delete the storage folder, the launcher will STILL try download your last uploaded save games (even though the SaveOnline=false) from Ubi's server. I suspect this is why it hangs (if you have later save games locally, they are not in sync). By deleting it, it will no longer do so.

That is the solution to the only problem I've had logging in everyday since 3/9/10. I have yet to be denied a log in, or to have my connection fail during hours of use so far. I don't think Ubisoft will kill the DRM scheme anytime soon, or ever for new titles.
