So, i died. Not by depth charges, my evading skills are on top, but by running out of oxygen, was under attack for over 1 day by 16 destroyers, making it outright impossible to evade, over 2000 charges were dropt on me, non hitting. but being over 16 destroyers its impossible to get away, they always got Pings on you.

I was circled by four DD's this afternoon, but got away. 16 sounds like a pretty good reason to come up and give up.

I had 8 destroyers pound me for 5 hours real time yesterday, took no damage at 171m depth then get away with it this morning.
I use Ducimus mod, and i found out that you have to completly shut down your engines to escape, even at 1 knot and 160m+ under they track you no problem...

Same here, using the Ducimus mod and found it to be a bit too harsh, tried to evade 10 DD's last night for 2.5hrs but couldn't get away, if you get into their passive detection radius you prolly won't get out from it :p

Almost got my first DD death tonight sinking HMS Royal Sovereign out at sea. I still am excited about that kill because it was crazy! They were moving at like 18Kts, and I had to come up behind them surfaced at full blast. Fired one torp to try to get their attention more then anything just to get them to do that zig zag crap from 8KM away and behind them at slow speed....I just barely miss the back DD and the damn torp dies almost perfectly lined up with the Royal Sovereign, but now its alerted and turning hard, and now all the DDs are really pissed off.
I order a quick dive as i see tracers light up, their laser sights nail me good, I lose the cook, my deck gun and my obs scope...oh well...all useless except the cook AHH!. I figured thats that, no way can i close the last 6km since i can only go about 8kts vs their 14-18...i already completed my mission and have almost a full load of torps..so i figure what the hell and just do a blind salvo in a general direction i believe the BB is gonna take...and wouldnt you know it...from 6+ freaking KM one of them actually nails it and slows it down to 8 kts! and not only that! Its changed course to one that will allow me to cut the distance fast. And all its DD escorts have pulled away from it in a mad dash to come get me. I have to dodge and crash dive several times to avoid incoming charges, coming up again for a few seconds to refigure where the BB is, I have 2 torps left one back, one front. After a good amount of time the BB has closed up with me and the DD pile on top of me. I jump up fast and launch 1 fish and dive again hard as another DD comes in.....i hit the BB again! Its dead in the water, I line up my last fish for a back shot hoping for a kill...and wouldnt you know it! It kills it off! woo! I dont have time to enjoy it though or even watch it, because im pretty much mauled by DDs for the next 30 minutes just trying to get away....I finally do....but I am estatic that the DDs actually put up a great fight. And i have a feeling that coded right...this game has a huge potental. |

Sounds a bit ridiculous. 10 DD's? In the early war period? Not very realistic.

well. they were 3 too start with, at the end they were 16, they really hated me for Sinking Ark Royal + The Hood, - 120000 tonnes of merchants i guess.
