Good news: after disabling shadows, the framerate increased drastically (30-60 fps).

Reimplementing SH3 controls and downloading a lot of mods also helped a lot.

Looks like SH5 will be playable after all

It was from the beginning

, but yeah, stuff like missing commands for 'toggle battery recharge' and no compass can be frustrating.
