They wanted to win the war, but they also did not serve the Nazis. Read about the Kriegs marine, they were the most Un-Nazified branch of the German Military hence why Donitz became Chancellor of Germany.

One reason for the lousy attention to the U-boat Waffen was because there was very little love of the Nazi party. Yes there were some commanders that were Nazis through and through but they were later in the war.

Exactly.

So it seems there will be no People on the docks and no music orchestra.
Another thing they did neglect to port over from sh-3. I mean i understand that its based on sh-4 and in sh-4 no one was sayong goodbuy like they did in sh-3 bacause it was not like that with the fleet boats. But comeon devs!! Some things that worked so well for sh3 was simpley overlooked in sh-5??? Or is this yet another thing that the community mods has to provide for the game? If so then i,m beginning to thing this is a revell model kit or something.

Priorities. It didn't make the cut. When you have a project like this, you have a huge list of features you'd like to include. Budget and time constraints force a brutal triage system. Limited resources means you have to cut the stuff that are not vital. And sometimes you must even cut vital stuff. The one thing it isn't a factor is the Devs are stupid or lazy or don't research or the various other baseless charges that are often thrown at them in these forums.

Maybe we are not supposed to enjoy computer games as much?

Like noticing the infamous "wilhelm scream" in movies and getting annoyed by it, because it sort of stands out when you first have learned to recognize it. I would argue that it works against immersion in movies.

I love that scream, horrible story about it though...that is the sound of genuine pain.

As far as the game being like a Revell model kit....I see no problem with that. None whatsoever.

I propose that that is how we think of big sims like this from now on.

You get the kit, which has mostly beautiful pieces and others that make you ask "what the hell were they thinking, this part is horrible" You then proceed to modify to what you think is the best representation of the subject.

It would be so nice if the game companies put out the stuff needed to fully mod the framework of the game, including the hard coding. Then it would truly be like a model kit.

This is far cheaper and not as bad for you as an actual model too. How much is the game $44? My Gato sub was $99.00, plus the paints, supplies, and other stuff to turn it from a pile of parts to a model of a submarine.

That is in essence what the modders do. I for one am thankful for them, and the game.

I know one of Neal's videos showed a clock. It was in the lower right corner, if I recall, but not there all the time.

@Matador: Check picture #10. It seems to me that the stopwatch is not just a stopwatch, but also a regular clock (or rather a pocketwatch) as well.

It was recorded by an actor, for a scene in a movie where a man gets bitten by an alligator, not a recording of a man actually being bitten by an alligator .

We'll see how moddable the game is soon, but without being able to write new scripts, there's an awful lot that can't be done. I am hopeful though .

My understanding of that scream is it is an actual, and accidental scream of someone taking an arrow (that's right a real arrow) in the leg.
