I always thought the black splotches were part of the photonic masts.. then I remembered only Seawolf and Virginias have those

Actually only the Virginia has the new photonics masts if I remember correctly. They may have added them to the Seawolf class.

The Virginia will be the first to be released. Next will probably be the Graney. Of note about the Russian subs to be released, they will be released for the German side of the game.

Also keep in mind that the Akula has 14 torpedo tubes. 8 internal and 6 external.

Correct. Realistically, I would only expect to have 10 tubes max...if that.

The Improved Akula had 4 intenal and 6 external torpedo tubes.
