Welp, I've bought ME1 last weekend and started playing it. I love how I've played for 3 hours and I'm still in the beginning of the game.
And I got ME2 for Valentines day.

I'm torn between Hearts of Iron 3, Mass effect 2 or Dragon Age Origins. LOL Don't want to burn my pocket so I'm getting only one game(well actually three but the other tow are board games).

Has Bioware stated the helmet thing is a bug? I'm still inclined to say it's a feature; wear a helmet: deal with the consequences.
![]() Controls are fine imho, whole interface is designed for PC, not console. ![]()

Ether you like it or not depends on the player's wants in Mass effect. I'm still torn in between. ![]() |

![]() ![]() I missed Mass Effect 1 for ages before taking the plunge and boy I realized I had missed something GREAT then. Looks like I'm may be in the similar situation in regard with DAO. Wouldn't want to miss anything epic from Bioware. That would be folly

![]() In ME you go into cover automatically if you get near, iirc. In ME2 you have to press space. ![]() Guess you're right about the helmet. Was aware of the issue, so I never wore anything but the visor to begin with. ![]() ME2 is a great adventure, but DAO probably gives more bang for the buck. ![]()

Its a more fast pace game. I'm guessing most of the players in the world like that type of quick games. I like slower games RPGs or more old school type of games that lasts and has replay value. For the controls I've re-keyed the space bar to my E key similar to ME1. I don't like the new setup.. ME2 is really geared for Controllers not PCs. Also it acts as the running key. You can't turn when running. If you hit the wrong wall or barrier your screwed. The AI is sharp shooters. Your dead. Very frustrating. Then it takes 2 to 3 sec to unlock your self from the positional duck and cover technique... very bad from bioware.. |

I just didn't understand what you meant with auto-cover, since it requires a key press. That's all.
![]() You should try the game on "insane", talk about frustrating. Good thing I play infiltrator and have that cloak and powerfull sniper, doubt I'd even get through it otherwise. ![]()

Skipped hardcore and went straight for insane.
![]() Even the basic baddie has some extra protection. I used to just lob Incinerate around and that would kill 'm, but now it takes 2 hits just to get their health to 0, let alone get rid of the defense. 2 headshots with Widow and an incinerate to get rid of a Krogan's armor, and then he's still coming at ya. Heavy mechs are ridiculously tough, I don't even want to think about that Thresher Maw or Geth Armature. ![]() Insane really is insane. ![]()
