Twenty-five below is a good number. Always wanted to visit Finland. Any good hiking there?

Seeing some colorful posts and getting a good chuckle. "It's snowing cars?" Thanks a-plenty.

Got a few more shares to post here. The blizzard has passed and it left a wake of destruction... pretty much the norm. My mother actually drove to work that day, about a hundred miles round-trip. She told me earlier this evening that the median and ditches were like a salvage yard with all the vehicles that had lost control. The wind was kicking up so much snow at times she couldn't see anything ahead, behind, or around her. Quite relieved that she came through safely.

Anyway, here are some links to the Channel 8 News website. I can't rip any of the photos. First link is a little slideshow of (yep, you guessed it; more wrecks) some of yesterday's excitement.

Second link is video of a large pileup that had part of the interstate closed down. Also some first-hand account from witnesses. Personally, I'd be scared to death in a situation like that. There may be a short advertisement before the footage loads, but usually not.

Been a crazy winter all around this year. Just thought I'd post something of it here and see what the rest of the snowed-in world is experiencing. Helps get me out of my routine world, I guess.

Global warming my rear-end... feels more like a new ice age is coming. Then again, I'm not a climatologist. At any rate I'd call it something more like "El Nino" or "Global Climate Upheaval" or something like that. My two cents. *shrug*

Yea I guess. Although if you were to go hiking off road today you'd need a pair of snow shoes. Or cross country skis.

Ah now see, that's the stuff right there. Hey, lemme tell you of a mid-winter camping trip I took way back in high school! It was a complete disaster! A pair of those snowshoes would have come in handy, to say the least.

so far winter in Vienna wasn't too cold.
the average temperature in the last weeks stays around 0°C (32°F), but there is light snowfall every now and then.
Germany had it pretty worse these days: in Berlin they got nights with a minimum of -20°C (~ 5°F)
brrrr, that's a bit uncozy!
