Clever octopus!

Ya they are pretty smart creatures, I remember reading about some tests, where they had learned how to open jars to get at food inside. Here is a vid of that.

Yes, I have read that these creatures are quite smart. My amazement with the octopus is the ability to change skin pigament to blend in. It is simply uncanny. Sometimes change the entire color to partial on one side from the the other side. Ability to change colors in a second. Imagine if we could do that!

The thing that amazes me about these creatures is the tiney holes they can slip through. Evidently the only limiting factor is that beak that was mention. Apparently if that beak can fit through the hole the whole damn octopus can fit.

I read this story this morning and just saw the video on the news. I think it is so cool how they can manipulate objects like that. That is sure one fascinating creature.

Rats have a flexable back-bone that gives them much more mobility through tight spaces than even a cat.

I once saw a short clip showing a bit of coral, and about halfway through an octopus suddenly 'unmasked' itself and just shot off. I was shocked at how fast the creature changed colors.

They are still limited by their rib cage and shoulder/hip joints. Also major difference in scale, Octopi can get in holes many times smaller then they are
