i've been reading that the effectiveness of urine is a myth.

Apparently it's the acidity in ammonia that works, and if your urine is so acidic it can kill the jellyfish stinging cells, perhaps you need a hospital for another reason.

i think plain old vinegar is the standard treatment now. it is in oz, where real aussie men like to slap themselves with a box jellyfish in the morning just to help wake up.
