Unable to detect air ctcs with the FFG

With the North atlantic Convoy mission, I am unable to detect the AS-4 coming at me even though I have my air and surface radar radiating. I tried many things and it is always too late!!!????

This missile is a high diver missile so I should detect very early. I have noticed that the Backfire is at 4000feet whis is fairly low but still I should detect those big missiles at a good 30NM minimum.
But not at all. I am still disapointed with the FFG and her weapon system
Hopeully somebody can help me!
