Well, the heavy hitters for SH4 are Real Fleet Boat and Trigger Maru Overhaul. RFB is very accurate with regards historical authenticity of the subs handling and tactics of the IJN. The result is that it can get a little easier as the war progresses. TMO is a nice brutal challenge as it tends to raise the difficulty. They're both great in their own ways. I go back and forth, a campaign in one, then another.

Run Silent Run Deep can be run with either RFB or TMO. You can't go wrong with any of them. Enjoy.
