The one that will forever haunt me, is the race in Grand theft Auto Vice City, to get the getaway driver. His car is better than yours, and the cops leave him alone. To make it worse, I've replayed Vice city several times.

Also, the carrier landing missions in FSX. I only got it right once.

Several levels in littlebigplanet.

There are many more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Bah, that's nothing! Ever played the Driver series? Now, THAT is hard. In most of the chase missions, you cant do a single mistake and everything from braking to driving lines have to be almost flawless to accomplish the mission.

Of course, it doesnt help that there's traffic and at times the guy you are chasing shoots or throws stuff at you.

Amusing on how many of these 'moments' could have been avoided by seso (save early save often).

Anyhow my most recent moment was with Empire Total War. Fighting a pitched, very close battle, a long tough fight about 40 minutes all told and finally getting the advantage. Win is eminent ! only a mater of.... poof back at the desk top

Oh god, that game managed to p*ss me off so much. The aim of every single cop was to drive straight at you full throttle. If you made a mistake and came to a sudden stop against a lamppost or something, you would have the entire police force's squadcars ramming you at full speed.

ARGGGH! The dreaded CTD in ETW is driving me nuts! I get it a lot, the smoke and blood mod included in AUM is not helping!

So, as the battle wears on, the field gets smokier and smokier, the more units the bigger the chance of CTD. Add rain or snow and its all over.

I'm fighting a lot of battles in summer, avoiding the tropics and sending huge stacks to take out a single raiding scumbag.

On the upside, the Ottomans seem to be fielding a lot of melee troops so its all ahead flank on the SE front.

I had Driver 1 and 2 on the ps1 back in the day. I remember they were hard, but I was also 13-14 at the time, so they're not fresh in my memory.

Far Cry - in the secret base where you're supposed to rescue what's her name. Towards the very end of the level, you find yourself at the bottom of a large, cavernous lab. You're told the only way to proceed further is to flood the lab so you can reach a ventilation shaft in the ceiling. (Of course! Makes perfect sense.)

So I would hit the button, wait the eternity for the water to rise to the ceiling, take an even longer eternity sloooooowly climbing through the shaft, until I would drop down into a hallway guarded by one of the mutants with rocket launchers. And die. A lot. After about 20 tries, I figured I'd just run past the mutant - great, except then I had to confront the mutants that could leap 300 yards and kill you in one hit. The last save point was just before hitting the button to flood the lab, so I had to go through the entire process over and over again (which must have taken a minute and a half each time), just to be killed again and again. Finally, as if by some miracle, I made it past the leaping mutants, and opened the door to the next room. There I saw what's her name...and three more leaping mutants, who ignore her and take me out in seconds...sending me right back to the beginning, again.

I swore until I was blue in the face.

It must have taken me 75 tries to get past that part. I replayed Far Cry a year later, and I made sure to have a rocket launcher with me, just for that level. That time it only took maybe 5 attempts.
