Of course it's the famous 'No RING-RING mode by Melendir'
I'm using it and works like a charm.

It seems both mods didnt work for me.I have internal uboot sound mod (or something similar ) but the jsgme didnt show any conflict. It would have helped if my game total load time wasnt something like 15minutes

Learn something new every day - I thought all engine 'telegraphs' had the 'ring' to the engine room (noisy) so they could confirm an order and it rang back to the control room too. Hmmm. Thanks for the correction! (Such noise is undesirable during conflicts because it can give away a vessel's position.)

Most likely the folder structure of the mod in JSGME differs from that of the actual game files. It should be something like
NO RING RING > DATA > SOUND > SPEECH > 1,2,3 etc
Check it once again and compare it to that of game folders.

I used JSGME and DBSM_SH4 (look at 4), it also from Sailor Steve.

Sailor Steve:

"There is one thing I wish was better: there was a wonderful 'Surface' routine in the original that played when the boat broke the surface, ending with the reporter asking "Mann auf Brucke?" I couldn't use it in SH3, because they didn't have a surface routine sound file. SH4 does, but it's tied in with the surface order, so it's perfect if you order "Surface" from periscope depth, but a little silly if you do it at 100 meters. Too bad; I like it."

"I included Ktl_Kurtz's wonderful Torpedo RepeatOrders Mod v1.02, just because it adds so much to the original."

"Also, this thing is big, so it will take quite a few minutes to load into JSGME. But it's worth it."

Very good mod, 123 MB sounds from Das Boot and no ring-ring, thus more authentic.

I know that U-boats were equipped with EOTS because we can see them on the forward Zentrale bulkhead and in the tower, and it seems to me that they'd be useful given the lack of direct engine input by the Zentrale crew. For peacetime operation and training I can't see why they wouldn't have an audible alert, disabled during silent running routines (simulated in GWX) or on combat patrols. Is it really so unauthentic? I'm asking because I don't know, not that I'm trying to be a snide bastard.

Default annoying ring ring

Hi guys,

First post on here for me about the annoying ring ring sound that you constantly hear with the new mod. I just went to the sound file in my silent hunter 3 folder and deleted the bell sound. Seems to have fixed the problem for me so far. I still have the bell sound when i crash dive.

Hope this helps

Happy hunting

WELCOME ABOARD!

I do find it interesting that your first post is to help solve a problem that was already solved three years ago.

Being that the search funtion is 'slightly' lacking in areas?

How was he to know that being new here?

You're getting a little hard on new members there Steve.

Just my thought glancing at your post.

I tried to be as delicate as I could. As I said, I found it interesting. Not wrong, just curious.

My fault.

Hello htmbowen...
I wonder what file you deleted. Those RING RING sounds in this thread are in the German speech folder following each change of speed command (GWX). Perhaps you mean another ring?
Happy hunting
