@ Keltos : I know you sir are going to do some frigging nice 3D modeling job working on this sub
To tell you the plain truth I'm simply sorry this boat didn't look really beautiful...
IMHO that is.

I wish you good luck though !

Edit

Just for the sake of clarity... What I meant by "I'm simply sorry this boat didn't look really beautiful" is that the REAL sub didn't look pretty (to me).
Your work looks mighty fine though, Mr Keltos.

Well, first of all she was intended as a commerce raider... but as the war started she lacked targets...

Then she was sunk mistakenly by a US aircraft in early 1942, PC attributed to a collision with a freighter...

She's the one sub in the movie "Lorelei - the witch of the Pacific Ocean"

nice 64 dollar model!
it has far too many polys though (even though im sure the loss of the tower and the 6 foot high handrails will prolly loosen that up a little)

As a fan of big guns, she looks like a LOT of fun to sail. Even if she is butt ugly.

Extremely interesting story. Tragic non-the-less.

Default Surcouf Anyone?

So has Keltos or anyone else continued working on this challenging project? I'd sure love to see the Surcouf completed and added into the game. Maybe as another Subsim donation project????? PLEASE SOMEONE WITH THE SKILLS CREATE THIS UNIQUE SUB!!!!!! If i can help in anyway, by doing some research, please let me know. We have playable surface ship MODS and Modern Sub MODS so why cant we have a historical "what if" MOD involving the Surcouf? Say as a Free French Sub operating against the Japs or perhaps an interned French Surcouf used by the US Navy? These are all just thoughts but if we can use an Ohio Class sub in the game why not an actual WWII era French Sub! So does anyone have any thoughts on this?

not for the moment, but since I don't plan to mod/play another game that requires me to be connected at all times, in the future, why not ?

Hi, I am new in this (verry interresting) forum, so I just discover your posts and work, and I wish to give my thanks!
I have read about this unique sub a lot of years ago (since 1982) and also its a book with a war story (a novel) about this famous sub. Strike from the Sea by Douglas Reeman); Since that times I dream a lot with this ship.... so, congratulation again for your work !!
