I don't know if this will help. But I believe the orders are to do a 5 day shakedown and then return to port. What I usally do is head out to the assigned grid, when I recieve the message for the 7th Flotilla, I turn around and head back to port. I figure it will get me back to port around the 6-9 depending on when I exactly turn around. With the 20 days in port that makes it late Aug (26 - 29), then I head out on my new patrol and usually get there a day or two before the war is delcared. I don't think there is a message for the 1st or 2nd Flotillas telling them to return to port, just the 7th to return and transfer.
hope this helps |

Paul,
If you want to be at the 2nd patrolgrid before the war starts, set LESS than 20 days in SHCommander. How much depends on when you enter port ending the 1st patrol. And how far away the 2nd patrol grid is. (put your navigator hat on, and grab some charts) You don't have to be there ofcourse at the 1st of september. I think I read in this document: Donitz war log/ uboat movements that some uboats were not immediately deployable to begin the war. Choose if you want to be one of them. Take the time left after you enter port, and subtract the days you need to be at the 2nd patrolgrid. Give yourself a day extra if there is one. And whip those harbor boys into action getting your uboat back in shape! ![]() Oh yeah, and have a hard talk with Unkle D. about the missing message. ![]()
