Default will have to get this to XO Asiatic

my XO for subron´s 14 Asiatic detachment in a Brit by the name of Brown.

He´s got the world record of fishing boats/sampans

might direct him to this thread!!!

On a more serious note, I find no problem with sinking fishing boats in Japans home islands, but have my doubts in conquered territories (dutch, philipines, etc)

can we asume (Lurker and Ducimus) that each and any sampan is enemy crewed???? or some gal getting something to live with... now Im getting ethical....

comments are welcome

Computer game versus ethics....I guess somewhere they're limits, but nothing in this game...

I like the Hula girls that Ducimas put in TMO.....The stock women look like men in drag.

They're are several large convoys of fishing vessels in RSRD, they score.

In one of my early careers I was using RFB. Because it lowers the power of the deck gun I would get real close to the sampans or fishing boats so I could hit the waterline better. I was real, REAL close to one sampan I attacked. Less than 20 feet I think. As it went down by the bow, I saw a woman come out to the stern. Not only was it the first woman I'd seen in the game, but she was also clearly carrying a baby! Even though it is just a game, it kinda shook me up for awhile.

I still sink sampans and fishing boats when I come across them. I just don't get so close anymore.

Wow, I know this post was kinda a joke, but honestly I have to say, much issues here.

First off, if a ship has all men on it and is civilian it is a fair target.

If a ship has mostly men BUT (gasp) one or two women, it is no longer a fair target.

I have to ask, why did the target which could be a disguised hauler of a horrible weapon go from fair target, to not a fair target merely because two of the members lack a specific member?

It is a curious thing.

As far as I am concerned, I don't care what the gender, orientation, or so on of the people on a boat is. If it is a vessel of the enemy, they get sunk (lifeboats are not a fair target for me, even if it is from a destroyer that had just put my crew through hell).

Fishing boats in FORMERLY friendly waters are shipping supplies to the enemy. When the convoys to PNG and the Solomons were getting interrupted by aircraft / surface ships, the IJN sent sampans, fishing boats, row boats full of supplies.

Has the crew been press ganged by the IJN? Are there women aboard? Are they just trying to make a living?

CARE FACTOR: NIL

1: They have been ID'd as enemy ships (in the mods I`ve installed).

2: I've got orders to sink enemy ships

3: I've got perfectly good 20mm / 40mm ordnance sitting there going to waste.

When I play, (if you want to get into the RP aspects), my sister was on the SS Panay. I imagine her being strafed by Zeros before ordering ahead flank and / or raking the survivors.

If we loose the war I'll be happy to stand in the dock at the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal......until then I will continue follow my orders and cracking up sampans.
