I feel sorry for Americans this Easter

It really is a great show.

Ill never forget the one where they are all walking with weapons drawn aboard a completely frozen space ship trying to figure out why the ship was just drifting abandoned...

anyway - the hole ship was frozen inside and there they go sneaking along, expecting some sort of ice monster or something...

all of the sudden Lister screams out! "Ahhhhhhhhhh" shattering the silence.

the group turns and looks at him in fright "what what what?!! whats the matter?!!?!

and he says "A big drop of ice water just fell off an ice sickle and went right down the crack of my ass!"

It's in my top 5 Greatest TV series ever list. It's second only to Mystery Science Theatre IMO but that's just because I'm a Yank. Although the two shows are kindred spirits of a sort.

In my experience, 99% of Americans have no clue what Red Dwarf even IS unfortunately.

I remember the massacred pilot too.
(I also agree that they massacred "The Office" as well)

I seriously don't know why Hollywood feels this all encompassing urge to F' up (oh... I'm sorry... they call it "Americanizing") anything foreing when they decide to start filming for US TV or movie markets.

Hopefully someone will tape those episodes and get them on Youtube for us.

The Terry Pratchett book "The Color of Magic" got the "Americanizing" treatment somehow when they made the TV movie from that. They pretty much RAPED the book which was hilarious and perfect. And this was filmed by a British company even !
