Nice visualisation. Neurophysiologists and neuropsychologists claim that the human brain cannot visually represent in its mind numbers beyond the range of 2 - 2.5 dozens (= you cannot visually imagine 30 pieces simultaneously without your brain already needing to play massive tricks on you.)

That's why chess uses 32 pieces only, and leaves the other 32 squares free.


Have you ever realised that managers and politicians can fight bitterly over relatoively small sums of money, but are becoming the more careless, the higher the sums of money become? For us it does not really make a difference whether you say 1 million or 100 million. Both are numbers beyond our standards.
